Played the first hour. Unbelievable. 6 out of 5 stars.

I love that they remade the level design. I like being able to rediscover an old classic. I was actually lost a few times. And the difficulty is definitely scaled properly. I've died a lot. Currently at We've Got Hostiles weaving through sentry nests.

I was skeptical that they could deliver the same atmosphere and feel of the original, but they actually did an incredible job. I'm surprised this isn't Valve's own handiwork.

The official torrent link is slower than the direct download options for me since there's so many peers in comparison to seeds

seeding, totally agree with Northern49, I love what they did, they went beyond expectations. Extremely well done so far. Environments are beautiful, etc.

Love it, just spent an hour running through and absorbing all the dialogue and environments. The lighting really just goes above and beyond imo. x.x

Love Black Mesa so far. However, the fact that I can grab and throw almost any object in a room, sent me on 2 hour spree of harassing NPCs with trash cans, stealing office supplies, and building my own bunker out of white boards, books, and VCRs. I even had my own CPU and monitor in there. Sadly, the fort didn't survive the resonance cascade.

Loving it so far.. I love that's it's a loving recreation of a classic that avoids the pitfalls associated with the term "remake", the game is familiar yet different enough in the right places to be great in its own right. I agree with VeGiTAX2 about the lighting, I think the lighting in this game makes it the prettiest looking Source engine title yet it is just gorgeous to look at.

When you're passing through the labs by the beam control room there's a doctor who makes an off comment about you. I totally stole his coffee mug and ran off with it while poking people in the face with it.

Totally showed him until I realized when the whole thing went into the apocalypse his face was probably blown off by the rogue laser when it shot through the glass.

recently re-got hl2 for this... anyone know if you can increase the internal resolution on the source engine via console?

even at a very high resolution and forced AA, the engine just doesnt look as clean as id want it to.
