A new mod has surfaced that adds a first-person camera and TrackIR support to open world crime drama Sleeping Dogs. It is still a work in progress and a little rough around the edges, but it does add to the immersion factor.
Modder "Racer_S" performed a memory edit on Sleeping Dogs to free up the camera control, which allows gamers to go into first-person view. You can also go into second-person view and see everything from the passenger seat of a car, if you prefer. The first-person view is only for in-car use, but you can tweak the config file to enable it at any other time.
The in-car view is not the best due to low resolution textures, but hopefully soon someone releases an HD mod to take care of those.
Racer_S is still tweaking and improving the mod, so be sure to check out his website for updates. If you feel like seeing things up close in virtual Hong Kong, be sure to give this one a download. The clipping problems have been fixed in the latest update, so quick camera turns no longer give you a look inside your character's head.
