Early adopters of Pokemon Black Version 2 and Pokemon White Version 2 will find a mythical Pokemon awaiting them when they hook up to the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. Steel/Bug Pokemon Genesect will be readily available upon the two games' launch on October 7, and will remain available for just over a month -- until November 12. Essentially, we're seeing Nintendo's version of pre-order DLC, except it will be available to all players without discrimination.
Genesect is a Bug and Steel-type Pokemon restored from a 300-year old fossil with some, err, modifications from Team Plasma. It's fairly clear your typically ancient Pokemon doesn't have a freakin' laser beam strapped to its back. Genesect will have Techno Blast as its signature move and will also adjust its power levels depending on the foe it faces. This will be the first time Genesect will be available in the United States, and pick him up quick because it may be the last.
In Pokemon Black Version 2 and Pokemon White Version 2 the Unova region has been significantly changed. Expect many new challenges and adventures, though with a pocket mythical Pokemon readily available on day one gamers will have the advantage... at least initially. Personally, I'm hoping a Pokemon game will eventually allow a no-Pokemon run, where a player can wander the entire countryside talking to folk and picking berries without battling small animals -- it's a personal choice.
