Steam Big Picture mode beta starts today
Sit back and relax
One of the disadvantages of PC gaming is you can't really sit back and relax from the couch while enjoying the hobby, at least not without considerable fiddling and setting up.
Valve, if you remember, is trying to make that process easy with Steam Big Picture mode, which brings "simply, easy to read navigation designed specifically for TV" to the client. You'll be able to try out the new service today when it gets into public beta, according to a New York Times report.
“Steam’s big-picture mode doesn’t require any additional development from you,” the official big picture mode site states to developers. “Just ensure your game works well with a controller, and we’ll take care of the rest. And don’t worry, keyboard and mouse aren’t going anywhere — users will be able to switch between input devices at any time.”
