Sorry, EA. People still like Single player games. See Skyrim. This announcement is going to earn you few friends in the gaming world.

Edit: Btw. being open about it doesn't make it any better. If someone kicks a dog, I'm not going to be ok with it if they admit to. I still don't like it and I don't agree with it.

In this case, I see no need to stop refusing to buy EA games. In fact that will be easier, since it sounds like they're planning to stop making games I even find interesting.

Dragon Age 3 confirmed multi player? *bleep* you EA. Will destroy the DA franchise even more than 2 did. So many games you can cross off that EA has ruined.
Next one will be Dead Space 3, by the looks of it.

This is a load of bullshit. Involving consumers my ass you money grabbing thieves. First you destroyed Mass Effect 3 by enforcing DLC from Bioware and then rushing them to finish their game just so you could make as much money as possible. Now you want to bring single-player gaming to a halt - with franchises such as Mass Effect and Dragon Age? You're out of your mind! Multiplayer isn't the answer to Mass Effect or Dragon Age or any good singleplayer experience. If you really wanted to listen to the community, you'd take on advice from YOUR customers! You're clearly not doing your job and should be removed from the gaming industry! Shame on you Electronic Farts!

They've back peddled a bit to say what they meant is that every game will have some sort of online component, such as DLC packs for single player games.

Link

They still seem to ignore the idea that forcing DLC or other online features into games where it doesn't work well is a bad idea, especially with their track record. But hey, I haven't bought an EA game in nearly a decade, so it doesn't look like that will be changing anytime soon.

Blanketing an entire kind of game purely because he feels it out of style seems like something that will come back to haunt him.
