I signed up just to say I think the release date is supposed to be 2013, not 2012.

Lightning will ultimately save the world, changing events in the past. This sentenced was repeated over and over in XIII-2. "If you change the future, you change the past." Lightning does something in this future that changes the events of the past. Instead of Fang and Vanille becoming a crystal pillar, they are saved. And Serah will be alive too. I'm betting that she confronts Bhunevelze himself and slays him, making no need for Fal'Cie or their time twisting ways. With a restored timeline, all characters will be alive and uncrystalized. Perhaps she can rewind time before the events of FFXIII, nullifying all the events that happened in the game. I'm only speculating.

Honestly sounds the most interesting of the three games. Never played XIII-2 but will keep an eye on this game.

No wonder it's only 30% complete. Sounds way more complex to make but so epic. thank god. XIII was a bit of a let down, XIII-2 was great, and looks like lightning returns is going to be a smash hit.
