Following rumours Assassin's Creed 3 would support a "season pass" DLC model, Ubisoft has clarified there will be monthly updates for the game's multiplayer.
“As you progress in the game and level up your character, you access these files and videos," Ubisoft Annecy director Damien Keiken explained to CVG. "Every month you’ll have new challenges to unlock new content that will continue the storyline throughout the year."
“The multiplayer is so big today that it’s already a game on its own. We’ve been given the right to develop the Abstergo storyline since the beginning, which is a big responsibility.”
Ubisoft announced that the new multiplayer will delve deeper into the Assassin's Creed story as well, as completing monthly challenges will unlock more of the Abstergo side-plot. In Assassin's Creed: Revelations, players who leveled up their multiplayer profiles were awarded with more content.
