DICE has detailed the latest Battlefield 3 patch that will launch alongside the shooter's Armored Kill downloadable content pack.
A slew of fixes and tweaks will go live for the game today on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC, with the majority of the update being focused on tweaks to weapon balancing and vehicle fixes. Out-of-synch reload animations and an exploit that made assault helicopters "effectively invulnerable" against lock-on missiles has also been addressed in the latest update.
The M16A3 and M4A1 in particular has had their recoil increased in order to make them "less attractive in all situations". In addition, a "clickable promotional spot" has been added to the main menu of Battlefield 3's Xbox 360 version.
As for Battlefield 3: Armored Kill, the DLC launches today for Premium members on the PlayStation 3. Premium members for the Xbox 360 and PC version will receive the expansion on September 11.
