A Polish retailer has broken the street date for Resident Evil 6 by over a month.
Polish website NeoGo claimed to have purchased a copy of the PlayStation 3 version of the title from a store in the city of Poznan. In fact, said retailer sold a batch of retail copies of the game to members of the public before they eventually ran out of units.
The version being sold by the retailer featured German packaging, while the game itself entails English language for the audio, which is accompanied by selectable Polish subtitles.
Resident Evil 6's disk, box, manual and a pair of in-game screenshots, as seen below in the gallery, were shown by the website to back up its claim.
Capcom recently announced that Resident Evil 6 had gone gold, but having the game go on sale, albeit in one retailer, a week later must be hard to bear. The publisher commented on the report by acknowledging its existence, but later said they "don't comment on rumour or speculation".
Resident Evil 6 will officially go on sale worldwide come October 2, 2012.
