Codemasters has ruled out a PlayStation Vita or Wii U version of F1 2012 in order to maintain the quality of the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions.
The developer's "tight deadline" was cited as another reason as to why the studio cannot create a potential Wii U or Vita version of the racer.
F1 2012's creative director Steve Hood did, however, point towards the possibility of Codemasters utilizing an external Brighton-based developer to develop a PlayStation Vita or Wii U version of F1 in the future.
Predecessor F1 2011 saw a release on the the PlayStation Vita, while the development of the handheld version of the game was handled by Sumo Digital.
F1 2012 is due for a release in North America on September 18, while European regions receive the racer three days later.
