Frozenbyte announced today that the upcoming Trine 2 expansion, Goblin Menace, will be released next Thursday, September 6. Until then, however, Trine 2 Collector's Edition owners can get early access via the beta.
Once the expansion is released to Steam for PC and Mac, Trine 2 players can snag the added content for $7.99 USD. In the meantime, Frozenbyte is patching the core game in preparation for the expansion's release. This means updating the multiplayer, arrow indicator for other players, and other minor changes -- in addition to technical fixes.
The beta version that CE owners can play grants access to the first two levels (the whole expansion spans six), and Frozenbyte is asking participants to give plenty of feedback in an effort to ensure Goblin Menace goes off without a hitch. That'll end once the whole thing is launched next week.
Still no mention of any console versions, however. The announcement came about two weeks ago during gamescom, and you can still check the debut trailer here.
