The much anticipated cooperative title Borderlands 2 has yet to be released, but Gearbox still wants you to know they're dedicated to post-release content. Four "content campaigns," to be exact, are planned to be released between Borderlands 2's release and June, 2013. Accompanying the announcement is a coinciding season pass, a package that nets all four DLC packs as they're released for about 75% of the standard price.
Classic Borderlands also eventually included four additional "content campaigns," from The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned to Claptrap's New Robot Revolution. Some of the releases were hits, some misses (lookin' at you, Moxie), but overall the DLC was well received. I even recall the community being forlorn upon hearing there would be no more content released after Robot Revolution.
Each of Borderlands 2's "content campaigns" will cost approximately $9.99 on their respective platforms, Xbox 360, PC and PlayStation 3. The season pass, which includes all four packs, will cost $29.99, or about $10 cheaper than each pack individually. The season pass does not include the preorder content for Borderlands 2, which includes the fifth class -- The Mechromancer. If you're a Borderlands fan, that's $90 up-front. What a glorious new world of DLC we live in.
Expect Borderlands 2 to release September 18 for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.
