Lollipop Chainsaw ships over 700,000 units, creates record for Grasshopper
Most commercially successful title for developer
Grasshopper Manufacture has confirmed that Lollipop Chainsaw has shipped over 700,00 units worldwide.
In doing so, the zombie-based title has created a record for the developer by becoming the most commercially successful title they've ever released.
To celebrate the landmark figure, CEO Suda 51 released the first promotional video for Killer is Dead, Grasshopper's forthcoming title that has been shrouded in mystery ever since its unveil. Suda was surprised with the fact that Kadokawa Games CEO Yoshimi Yasuda edited the trailer just for the event (Lollipop Chainsaw Summer Appreciation Festival event).
The footage contained a character that had a cyborg left arm accompanied by a katana in his right hand. With Lollipop Chainsaw featuring a new female character as its main lead protagonist, Suda state that Killer is Dead will have a "new hero" as well. That said, he assured that "hot girls" would be included in the game.
