So there making fun of the guy who gave them the Diablo franchise which enabled them to shit in a box and put Diablo 3 on it and sell the most copies of a pc game ever. They should know better than to badmouth somebody on facebook and think they can get away with it. You got your money off the franchise just stop rubbing it in now.

Actiblizzard is awful. I miss BlizzNorth.

I've spent over 30 hours playing Guild Wars 2 since early start, it's amazing. Jay Wilson and his Rmah, David Brevik and his spandex mmo? F*ck THOSE losers!

Lot of players getting banned in the thread for either quoting what Jay originally said (even with the f-word censored out) or for saying his apology isn't much of an apology. Blizzard pulling a BioWare right now.

quote RabidChinaGirl
It didn't sound like much of an apology to me anyway.
That's what PR does with big companies I guess. On the outside they lose their human touch most of the times.

Agreed tekmosis I think Peet's approach should have been what everyone took from the beginning. He seems to be a stand up guy.

Jay Wilson needs to remember there's fans watching and digesting his words. Those screen caps will get you eventually! LMFAO

It's unfortunate that we didn't get to cover this from the start and have only just caught wind of the aftermath. For those who don't know what happened, here's the low down.

Aside from Jay, Andrew Silvernail, and Jill Harrington also deleted their posts. In the entire thing Peet Cooper was the only 'voice of reason' and didn't act like a douche bag up on their high horse, who can't take constructive criticism.

Here's the actual FB post:

I'm just going to quote what I said on Reddit last night regarding this;

quote
He should be owning up to his mistakes by apologizing to Brevik directly, not us.
The forum post could have been as brief as "I have spoken to David and apologized for my actions. I hope the community can also forgive me for what has transpired. Thank you for your understanding.". Done.
There's no reason to go into the speal that he did. To me, it came off as him trying to justify and defend his actions, and didn't have much remorse for what he said, merely, remorseful that he was caught.

I think you missed the point on whimsyshire, it's sort of like an easter egg level. A joke from developers, you see that in more games.

shelt: why is it bad that diablo is a chick? also why is it bad that whimsyshire is colorful? i agree with your general feeling but i don't understand your specifics. i think the way blizzard "gave the finger to the players" was by making it the most horrible grind ever and basically forcing you to farm gold for hours and hours or spend money on the RMAH.

Obviously, Jay "Corndog" Wilson wasn't the person to head up the D3 project. One can make the case that from a design point of view, they gave the finger intentionally to players, ie, colorful whimsyshire, killing off Cain, DIablo is a chick for God's sake. Blizzard needs to tip it's hat to players and get rid of this guy, acknowledge the mistake that is Jay "I need another Ben and Jerry's fudge bar" Wilson.

The D3 Dev's massively overreacted to what David Brevik said. All he was saying was it wasn't done quite how he would have done it. He never implied it was crap, he never suggested the guys doing it were crap either. He said that it might have been different with some dedicated ARPG guys working on it, as most of the current team came from RTS etc.

Quite honestly the way they reacted was disgusting, he has apologised, but my respect for them has dropped massively (if it could have dropped lower after the shocking state of Diablo3, ZING)

The fact they had such a knee jerk reaction says to me that they are, in their own minds, doubting the quality of their work.

The thing that wound me up a bit about it was the way they were like "What has he done? He worked on HellGate London" Yea... you also forget he invented the Diablo universe, he's the reason you guys have just made a load of unwarranted profit on Diablo 3.

JacqueseVonRIP Basically Brevik said he felt that D3 wasn't done in the way Blizzard North would have. He mentioned that Blizzard South (the current team, in Irvine) focused on other aspects of the Diablo series they liked, such as lore, while the North team would've been able to make it a stronger ARPG.

Check the Reddit link in the article if you want to know more about that. In all honesty, he wasn't very critical of D3 or Blizz. Wilson and the other devs really overreacted.

JacqueseVonRIP I think you can probably find a link to it on the diablo forum here.
