Xbox 360 'Essentials Pack' coming in October, costs $79.99 for standard accessories
Sounds like a new way to sell Kinects, right? No Kinect included
Microsoft is putting together a special bundle to be released in October later this year. The bundle, called "The Xbox 360 Essentials Pack," will include your basic wireless controller, an HDMI cable, a remote control, and 3 months of Xbox Live Gold for $79.99. Microsoft says this saves you around $55 versus the individual costs for each item -- bought brand new, of course.
An experienced price-watcher, or cheap ass gamer, could like find these items for much cheaper than their label price. For instance, the 3-month Gold code runs at $25 full price, but experienced buyers should find it anywhere from $8-15. An HD cable, too, can cost anywhere from $20-30, but if you're paying that much then you're getting ripped off. All in all, this bundle is less for gamers looking for good deals on accessories and more for families picking up some holiday gifts.
The Essentials Pack is what it is, will cost $79.99 for four Xbox 360 accessories and will be released in October.
