Chart-Track: Square Enix is top dog in the UK with Sleeping Dogs

True Crime's resurrection even managed to top New Super Mario Bros. 2 last week
Square Enix's decision to revive the True Crime franchise in the form of Sleeping Dogs has indeed paid off, at least in the UK where it topped software sales charts during its launch week. Sleeping Dogs' combined PS3 and Xbox 360 sales were enough to keep Nintendo's New Super Mario Bros. 2 in second place. Not bad for new IP, especially when it enjoyed the sixth best-selling launch week sales in the UK thus far into 2012.
The one-two punch of Sleeping Dogs and NSMB2 ended London 2012: The Official Video Game and Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games' three-week run as chart-toppers. Their dominance until now was no surprise, given the Summer 2012 Olympic Games had just wrapped up in London after attracting millions of viewers worldwide over the past two weeks.
