And that's another thing, indie studios manage with much smaller funds. Imagine if some big studio decided to split their dev team into a few smaller groups for a while focussing less on high end tech and awesome graphics. I'm sure they'd be able to come up with fun games which are cheaper to make. I think indie studios are pretty much doing the innovation with gameplay for the most part right now. (At least on PC)

its true. its really a if its not broken dont fix it kind of thing from what i feel i would enjoy a game that i have not seen before i dont hate shooter i just dont play most of em due to every month 1-3 new ones come about and its the same no need in a manual its the exact same controls but in this one you can stop time or something pointless.

also looking for to this mans next game elllen page + video game = sold

Agreed. I remember when sandbox games were very rare, now it seems like every other game is open world, or I see gamers pushing for every game to be open world.

If indie studios can do what they do on their budget imagine what bigger companies could do with even twice that. Remind me again why exactly do games need hollywood blockbuster budgets?

If there were more games like Mirror's Edge where you rarly if ever use a gun, and your character has a slow decent into madness until you kill yourself, I would play that.
