Technology video for Borderlands 2 shows the difference an upgraded PC can make
Borderlands 2 bundled with newly released GeForce 660 Ti video card
To celebrate the bundling of Borderlands 2 with the newly released Nvidia GeForce 660 Ti video card, Nvidia released a technology video. The trailer showcases the difference a gaming rig can make, comparing gameplay with PhysX and without. Specifically, the trailer shows particle effects and fluid dynamics "with" a GTX card and "without." While the trailer implies exclusive graphics for Nvidia, it's likely the case that this is just a comparison of low vs. high graphical settings in-game.
Still, it's refreshing to see Borderlands 2's various graphical improvements over the original, along with scalable graphics to boot. The original Borderlands on PC was lacking any significant customizability, but after Gearbox promised a renewed effort to please gamers everything seems to be coming together nicely. "Let's make this work, baby," is the direct Claptrap quote, if I recall. The game's minimum system requirements are, well, reasonable.
Borderlands 2 is set for release on September 18 for all platforms, I believe. This time around, hopefully console players and PC players alike will be completely happy with the end product they receive. The Nvidia 660 Ti should be available today and will be bundled with a Borderlands 2 code redeemable upon the game's release date. Make sure to verify the bundle with the outlet, as some are known to remove such codes prior to purchase.
