Humble Bundle for Android released today, all games desktop compatible
So you don't really need to an Android phone
The new Humble Bundle for Android 3 was released today, and it's quite a tempting little package, especially when you consider all five games included are cross-platform. That means you don't actually need an Android device to play these games; your computer will do nicely.
Here's what you'll get in the new bundle:
- Fieldrunners
- BIT.TRIP BEAT
- SpaceChem
- Uplink
- Spirits
Keep in mind that you'll only get Spirits by donating above the average. Considering the current average is a measly $6.03, all you need is $6.04 or more to snag the bonus game, and we'd consider that a fair offer anyway. You can play any of the games on Windows, Mac OS, or Linux.
These are all games which have already enjoyed some success on their own. Fieldrunners brings some tower defense action to the table, while SpaceChem encourages a bit of critical thinking with puzzles and science. Uplink is a text-based "hacking" sim about international espionage, and Spirits has players guide falling leaves in a 2D platforming format. No doubt many of you are already familiar with the insane trip-tastic rhythm game BIT.TRIP BEAT.
As of writing, the bundle has accumulated nearly $200,000 in earnings, spread across over 33,100 purchases. While most of the numbers are quickly rising, the average is currently stabilized at $6.03, with Linux users being the highest payers -- though not by much. On average, Windows users are paying $5.39 and make up more than half of the buyer population, with Mac and Linux users clocking in at $6.51 and $8.77 respectively. Top contributor of the moment is a fellow who paid $400.

also, Spirits is a pretty meh game so if you do plan to pay over the price just for that game you're not really getting much of a deal. Otherwise, all of those games are good, especially BEAT and Fieldrunners, so I really see no reason not to support the devs with a hunky wad of dosh. Just a heads up from a fellow mobile-gaming-bro.
Basically, if you're cheap like me who only spends the minimum $1.00 for these bundles unless there's a magnum opus game on the bundle then you may not want to pay above average. If you really want to play it, by all means do so. Its artstyle is pretty much its biggest merit to me. If you like Lemmings-style games then I'm sure you'll forgive the somewhat-clunky mechanics of the game occasionally presents (which unfortunately I could not >_>).
