EA released the first Army of TWO: The Devil's Cartel trailer today, and we're not entirely amused. In fact, the trailer seems to reflect EA and Visceral Games' objectives quite well, which is to cature a "mature and grittier tone."
Alpha and Bravo are dropped into Mexico, knee-deep in Cartel business. From the looks of things, the situation down there is pretty bad, so it makes sense to send the big guns. Unfortunately for the guys, the Cartel has no intention of going quietly. In fact, Trans World Operations loses quite a few of its mercenaries in the whole mess.
Who knows, maybe Visceral will sneak in a few chuckle-worthy bromance moments, but a recent feature in Game Informer doesn't leave much hope. The overall feeling was that The 40th Day felt too disjointed because it tried to force humor into an otherwise dark plot. As of now, it's somewhat likely Salem and Rios will appear in the game, though Visceral confirmed they're no longer in the spotlight.
