IO Interactive has announced the PC version of Hitman: Absolution will include Steamworks and DirectX 11 support.
The newest Hitman game already looks good, but PC gamers running a DirectX 11 video card will be in for quite a ride. Hitman: Absolution's Glacier 2 engine supports bokeh filtering, tessellation, global illumination, and increased texture resolution, which all work together to make the PC game the best looking version. AMD users will even be able to benefit from Eyefinity and HD3D, provided the system is capable of those demanding tasks.
The Steamworks support means saves can be uploaded to the cloud, which allows gamers to resume playing on any PC. It also means an easier time keeping the game up to date and access to the Steam overlay to talk with your friends while playing.
IO Interactive's Jonas Meyers states the studio wants Hitman: Absoluton to "look as awesome as possible" and that it "looks ten times more awesome on the PC." It is always good to see a developer push the boundaries of PC gaming, especially with how powerful a computer can be.
