The newest trailer for Lost Planet 3 comes from gamescom, and delivers on the story I'm sure you're on the edge of your seat to learn about (cough), and also some hot mech on Akrid action (yay). It's a couple minutes long, and does what a trailer should, though may disappoint old LP fans. See for yourself:

If you haven't figured it out by now, I am one of those old LP fans, so this trailer just comes off plain awkward to me. There's that weird cartoony character design so trendy today that doesn't work in anything but Torchlight 2, a story that takes itself seriously and is distinctly...not Japanese (needs more cackling madmen babbling about the end of the world), graphics that are a huge step back from what was seen in Lost Planet 2 and its gorgeous MT Framework engine, and just a general feeling this is indeed from another developer trying to do what Capcom did and failing miserably. Well, that's me anyway.
