Minecraft's PC version has sold over seven million copies, Mojang has confirmed.
Mojang business developer Daniel Kaplan thanked all the "Minecrafters around the world" for "showing such dedication and support."
The studio's CEO Carl Manneh recently said he expects the developer to double its annual profit this year. The Sweden-based indie firm reported a profit of around £5.7 million ($8.94 million) last year. Minecraft itself, however, made more than that figure, but a substantial percentage went to creator Markus 'Notch' Persson.
The Xbox 360 version of Minecraft has also been experiencing similar commercial success. The title is selling around 17,000 copies on a daily basis, with overall sales exceeding three million units.
