Resident Evil 6 will adopt its own online service ResidentEvil.net, similar to Battlelog or ELITE
Halo Waypoint, Battlelog, Call of Duty ELITE, now this
At gamescom this week, Capcom unveiled ResidentEvil.net, an online service that will be launching with Resident Evil 6. The network, as you might've already guessed, is similar in purpose to Halo Waypoint, Battlelog, Call of Duty ELITE, and other such services.
RE.net will actively track your performance in Resident Evil 6's Mercenaries mode and compare it against other scores. Community events (i.e. "Kill this many zombies") will allow players to earn points that may be spent on in-game items, such as exclusive outfits for Mercenaries. Event winners will also be awarded a Championship Belt, whatever good that does.
As of now, we also know that ResidentEvil.net will feature Twitter support, and phone apps are in the works. Doesn't sound particularly impressive yet, but we'll no doubt be hearing more in the coming months.
Resident Evil 6 will be out on October 2.

RE goes better and better everytime I see
Edit: Typo. And somehow, I was sure Ded Valve would have something to say about all this.
I'm pretty sure I bashed almost every tiny nitpicky detail, they could announce a fps mode and killstreaks and legit horde mode and it wouldn't be surprising in the least.
