It feels like we may be seeing the final Valve development on TF2, and that Half-Life 3 may not be far off.

Unless the Spy gets some sort of Sapper gun, he'll be completely useless here.
Everyone else has a fair shot, Spy is down right f**ked.

"Not afraid to say we love you Valve?"

What is love? Love to Valve is stabbing your Half Life fanbase in the back...if that's love then I do not want to be loved by Valve ever again.
How dare they take their time on the latest installment of what may be their biggest franchise!

lol considering they said "episodic" content was to stop this exact scenario from happening, yes how dare they indeed...wouldn't mind if they simply would say "yes" or "no" about working on any kind of sequel but nothing, just secrecy...that's all I want, a simple straight answer from Valve stating if they are even bothering with Half Life or not.

I understand they have other franchises to work on but the lack of acknowledgement to their fans is pathetic...if this was any other company, you would all be up through the roof about lack of information and don't you dare deny it either.

Just one straight answer to the question "Are you working on Half Life 2 Episode 3 or Half Life 3" and I will be happy...no silly "possible" hints or rumours....that shit worked with the Portal fanbase but since their episodic content was to stop fans from waiting on the 4-5 year development cycle...yeah, you can't tell me that I'm not meant to be pissed at them for that

Not only am I a Half-Life fan, I've been a huge fan of id Software all my life. Luckily, I'm very patient, and know that anything Valve or id do, it's probably for the best. While they've kept Half-Life 3 and/or episode 3 tightly under wraps, they offer nothing but pure generosity and awesome fan support. I can understand your frustration with the secrecy, but I wouldn't say they're stabbing you in the back by having you wait.

Well to be fair, that was just added for drama and to see the minus thumbs shoot up while I had my rant...sorry can't help but cause a little chaos while amusing myself at the predictability of people

Yes.. Because the last 5 years of free content for TF2 is how bad gaming companies treat their customers. Valve are easily the most customer orientated gaming company around.

And that is related to my "Lack of information about Half Life because they have left an episodic content game on a major cliff hanger for the last 4-5 years", how?

Valve are not a small company, they do not have a small team, I am pretty sure they could have 2-6 teams all working on different projects and I am sure a company so "fan orientated" and with customer support greatness could at least fill their fans in about the game series that set their name in history.

I am not disputing their content for TF2...I despise the game but my pain is the fact they continue to happily divulge secrets and information about TF2, Portal, Counter Strike, L4D and Steam itself yet other than some source 2 code in the film maker and rumours along with concept art from 2-4 years ago popping up yet again and an employee wearing a HL3 t-shirt...there is nothing about Half Life 2 Episode 3 or Half Life 3

Decided to put this into a separate comment just so it is seen.

Essentially what you are saying is...I am not allowed to be or cannot be pissed off at Valve because of the lack of information about Half Life 2 Episode 3 or Half Life 3. A simple acknowledgement. There doesn't need to be a release date...just a simple "Hey guys, we haven't forgot, we are working on Half Life 3"...that is all, nothing major, no details needed, just a mere acknowledgement.

Yet between the lines, you are all stating that I cannot lash out towards Valve or be mad at them because in their other games they give free content, they add content and they are the "most customer orientated company around"?

Amazing...truly amazing...their brainwashing software is more powerful than Blizzard's

Denied, I waited the entire period of development for Duke Nukem Forever and didn't give a crap about them not updating or posting status messages. I've waited for Black Mesa Source through thick and thin and didn't go "through the roof".

I wait on countless projects without protest, I waited on BF3 and even though I dislike most of it I still didn't lose sleep over the lack of updates from DICE when everything was in limbo. The same applies to Half Life, it'll come out eventually and I'll play it and love it or hate it and then move on.

I've waited for a sequel to Rise of the Triad for ages and here it is, and yet I never went through the roof about a lack of information.

Going to extremes doesn't get anything accomplished, you have no idea who any of us are or what our habits are. Honestly the bit that you keep playing time and time again is just getting old and many users are sick of it.
