No, friends, this is unrelated to today's launch of Dust: An Elysian Tail -- we're talking Dust 514 here. We're talking FPS action integrated in EVE Online with Orbital Strike framework and other cool terminology. You know, crazy stuff that has never been done before in modern gaming. We're talking closed beta, exclusive to PlayStation Plus members, purchasers of the Mercenary Pack DLC, and those who already have All-Access Passes. We're talking video games.
CCP Games is stepping up the voltage with the upcoming two-week beta for Dust 514. Starting on August 21, players will be able to log-on and join in on the "Precursor" release, which includes new updates like keyboard and mouse support, instant battle matchmaking and the first vestiges of EVE Online integration. How exactly this first stage of EVE integration will work isn't exactly clear, however.
DUST 514 is a PlayStation 3 exclusive free-to-play massively multiplayer FPS. If you're not a PlayStation Plus subscriber, but would like to get in on this beta and all further beta releases, the Mercenary Pack is currently available for $20. Otherwise, Open Beta is set to start at some point in 2012. We'll let you know what that happens.
