Epic Games has purchased Bulletstorm developer People Can Fly.
The Gears of War studio already owns a majority share of the company, which they acquired in 2007, but now fully own the firm after a buyout.
Vice president and co-founder of Epic Mark Rein confirmed the purchase led to the departure of its founder, Adrian Chmielarz (who was also the creative lead of Gears of War: Judgment), as well as two other employees, Andrzej Poznanski and Michal Kosieradzki.
"We doubled down on People Can Fly. It was something we always hoped to do."
Following the several departures, Rein said it won't negatively impact the development of Gears of War: Judgment, as won't the exit of Rod Fergusson:
"Rod was the director of production, he was overseeing all of the producers. That's not to say he wasn't touching it at all, but he no longer had that direct role."
Gears of War: Judgment releases on March 19, 2013.
