Deep Silver showing two new games at gamescom, Dead Island: Riptide is not one of them
New 2D brawler Sacred Citadel looks good anyway
Deep Silver has revealed their gamescom lineup, which will include new games Sacred Citadel and Secret Files 3. Incidentally, they did not name Dead Island: Riptide, meaning we'll have to wait a while yet before we hear more about that.
Sacred Citadel is the brand new standalone title here, and Deep Silver seems eager to show this 2D brawler off. The art style is actually pretty eye-catching.
Due for 2013 release on PC, Xbox 360, and PS3, this co-op adventure from Southend Interactive follows the journey of three warriors out to stop the evil Lord Zane and his Ashen Empire. Easier said than done, as our heroes will be facing down an army of mutated Orcs called Grimmocs. The events in Citadel will act as a prologue to Sacred 3, which was also just announced recently, and Deep Silver will be revealing a little more story content on that at gamescom as well.

The other game that'll be shown is Secret Files 3, a point and click adventure from Animation Arts, succeeding Secret Files: Tunguska and Secret Files 2. Only a PC version has been announced.
