Microsoft mentions the "new Xbox" and possible features
Unannounced console will launch with Windows 8 support
Microsoft has accidently confirmed the Xbox 360 successor's existence.
Speaking during a podcast (at the 1 minute 20 second mark) regarding the new Outlook, Windows Live general manager Brian Hall clearly stated that the "new Xbox" would be one of the firm's products that would launch with Windows 8 compatibility.
"We've operated Hotmail for about 16 years, we obviously have Exchange and Outlook that people use at work, and we just decided it was time to do something new and bring the best from each of those and put them together and release it right in time for the new wave of products that we have coming out with Windows 8, with the new version of Office, with the New Windows Phone and the new Xbox."
While Microsoft hasn't officially announced the next Xbox yet, a leaked 56-page document, which was removed by one of law firms they use, purportedly outlined the company's plan for its next-generation console. The document referred to the platform as the "Xbox 720" and claimed it would feature a Blu-ray drive, as well as being 10 times more powerful than the Xbox 360.
The company did, however, comment on the document by acknowledging the excitement of fans, with the firm "continually thinking about the future of the platform".
