Darksiders 2 'Arena' mode pits players against 100 waves of enemies
New Game+ also added, plus new screenshots
If the Darksiders II campaign isn't enough to satiate your bloodlust, THQ and Vigil have you covered with the new Arena mode, a survival style challenge mode new to the series.
In the Arena mode -- also referred to as The Crucible -- will pit players against no less than 100 waves of bad guys. Every five waves, you'll be offered a consolation prize of sorts and a chance to drop early. These prizes do improve as you go on, of course. THQ assures that "only the most skilled players" will be able to take on all 100 waves to snag the "greatest prizes."
Now in addition to the Arena, Darksiders II also introduces New Game+, which is pretty much what it sounds like. Players will be able to carry their customized Death over to a new game after beating the story mode, keeping all learned skills and gear.
