It's been a long while since we've heard much of anything pertaining to The Behemoth's Castle Crashers follow-up BattleBlock Theater. Today, that changed, as Behemoth was like, "Well hey, here's a little something to blow your mind, because we love you." What do you know, they released a bullet point list of everything we can expect in BattleBlock Theater, as well as a trailer showing artist Dan Paladin creating some animations -- guess what, it did blow our minds.
So how much content will there be in BattleBlock Theater? How much insane battle arena action should you expect? How about like two and a half boat loads:
- 200 + characters to unlock
- 200 + levels to navigate and conquer
- 10 + unique weapontools
- Variety of interactive block types
- Online Multiplayer Campaign/Arena modes
- 30 Achievements
- Avatar Awards
- Soundtrack created by well known artists, and members of our community!
As if The Behemoth could put out a game that wasn't ridiculously impressive. More than 200 levels to conquer and over 200 characters to unlock somewhere in those 200 levels... I'm addicted already. Just as in Castle Crashers, I'm already thinking about 100% completion, which is probably exactly what The Behemoth wants. Dastardly.
BattleBlock Theater is currently planned for release on the Xbox 360, but has date of delivery as of yet. It's only natural to be overly excited about such a great looking game, but have no fear -- here's a fancy video from Dan Paladin with some soothing background tunes.
