EA strengthens Wii U support with FIFA 13 and Madden NFL 13
Featuring "new ways to play"
The Wii U's third-party lineup just got stronger as EA announces plans to bring two of their biggest sports franchises, FIFA Soccer 13 and Madden NFL 13, to the upcoming tablet-motion-based console.
In terms of GamePad features, EA did mention being able to use the tablet in FIFA to aim the ball on set pieces and penalty kicks. It can be shaken to activate Touch Screen Shooting, which improves accuracy. They were slightly less forthcoming about Wii U features in Madden.
Andrew Wilson, head of EA SPORTS, commented:
“We challenged our teams to develop innovations designed specifically for the Wii U, and to create new ways to play that would bring players of all abilities together. Our teams have truly delivered creative new football experiences with FIFA Soccer 13 and Madden NFL 13 for the Wii U.”
The announcement came earlier today during the EA Summer Showcase. If you're interested, both games will be released when the Wii U launches (presumably this fall). For other platforms, FIFA 13 will be out September 25, and Madden NFL 13 on August 28.
