Wha--? The game doesn't need an Easy Mode. In fact, the only truly rough parts of the game are the beginning and most of post-game, but it shouldn't be that hard to get into and understand right away. It needs a hard mode for those parts in between.

And I've never really heard of any company releasing a demo after the game's release.

Oh Capcom you slay me. Dragon's Dogma doesn't need an easy mode, it doesn't have any level scaling whatsoever, tough enemies are tough enemies until you're strong enough to beat them, nothing gets progressively more difficult around you and any challenge dies after a certain level. The game doesn't even start out difficult either...

Dragon's Dogma doesn't need an easy mode, it needs a challenging difficulty to make repeated playthroughs more interesting. Very little can kill your characters after you hit level 60+.

This version of the demo should've have been released months ago before the game's release, instead of the awful one they actually put out.Trying to entice new players now is just... pointless. People that weren't interested after the original demo (and there were many of them) aren't even going to care about news of this game to even be aware if the new update or the demo. :/

Capcom, why do you always shoot yourself in the foot?

First it was the lack of any advertising for the game (even though they had a mountain of promotional images and videos, barely anyone had heard of it) , then the terrible original demo, then every piece of DLC released so far for the game has only been disc-locked and all the DLC released so far has been completely insubstantial. A few new armour sets and some fetch quests aren't going to keep people playing, or entice new players and neither will this pointless easy mode.

If anything this game needs a hard mode. Once you beat the game once all subsequent playthroughs are so easy you can royally screw up your stats and STILL never have a problem, ever. Ever.

Oh no why would they do this? The game got rediculously easy after you acquired post-dragon gear anyway, and the few difficult boss battles that were still there (I'm looking at you, room with a Chimera, Gorechimera, Wraith, and Hellhounds) made the game fun! Easy mode will kill it... Good thing it's not going to be mandatory. Now if they added a scaling function like Gearbox did with The Secret Armory... That would be awesome.

The game has no scaling, which means it's only hard if your doing missions way out of your league. If anything what this game could have used was a simple exclamation mark, or level system by easy/normal/hard/very hard next to the mission description, that way players can avoid going into hard missions until they leveled up.

At first I thought this game was insanely hard, but that was because early in the game I'd ended up going to areas only really suitable for higher levels. What this ended up doing was make me over-levelled when I actually got round to doing the main story and everything ended up being too easy!

Rather than an easy mode what this game needs to do is ensure that no side quest/noticeboard quest takes the player to a higher level area early in the game as ironically (as long as the player battles through) this ends up making the game too easy in the long run.

I find it hilarious that even the game tells you that if something is to difficult, there is no shame in running away. The early mission where you have to go down the well to defeat Saurians I got my ass handed to me, my solution? Come back and destroy those mothers later.

Making it easy not only removes all of the challenge, but things like attack a saurians tail, or defeat a goblins leader, or remove a cyclops armors would be pointless, I know this isn't mandatory but when a lot of the fanbase online has been very vocal in increasing the difficulty and Capcom goes around and does the opposite, it makes me wonder if they do this on purpose. At least give us both an easy and hard option not just cater to people that need their hand held because they refuse to level up, ever and ignore the ones that got to the point where a Drake is as much of a threat as a goblin.
