Sony has delayed the PlayStation 3 release of Grand Theft Auto 3.
The PlayStation Network update for the US PlayStation Store that goes live today was scheduled to include the PlayStation 2 classic. However, due to an "an unforeseen complication", the re-release hasn't been included as part of today's update. A new release date will be announced when the issue has been ironed out.
PlayStation Community Manager Morgan Haro shed more details on the matter:
"There were some last minute issues with getting clearance for a certain audio track in the game; but the teams at Rockstar are on it to review how to best get this title on PSN."
When it does release on the PS3, GTA 3 will be priced at $9.99, and it'll only be a PS2 Classics release, which means it won't receive the same treatment of a HD upgrade such as HD graphics and Trophy support.
