Despite rumors of E3 moving out of Los Angeles due to upcoming plans for a football field, the city has reached an agreement with the ESA to keep the industry event another three years.
Initially, many thought the summer event would relocate to a larger venue, such as Las Vegas, after LA okayed plans to build a football stadium -- named Farmers Field -- near Staples Center. To make room, the convention center's West Hall will be demolished.
Construction could begin as early as March 2013, so LA and ESA are going to have to work something out, sooner or later. E3 2013 will be landing in June once again, between June 11 and June 13.
In 2012, E3 brought LA a whopping $40 million in revenue, so it's no wonder that the city would fight to keep the event.
