Mojang has revealed they were once working on a now-canned first-person shooter.
Minecraft creator and studio head Markus "Notch" Persson said the shooter was canceled during its prototype stage as the developer didn't want "external dependencies".
That said, so long as they're "not to make money. If there are other reasons to collaborate, maybe!", Persson stressed that future collaborations with other firms is a possibility.
As for Minecraft's continued success, the Xbox 360 version of the sandbox-building game has been enjoying similar commercial success in regards to its PC counterpart; over three million copies have been sold.
