TrackMania 2 Canyon is one of those titles that doesn't get half the attention it deserves. Sure, it's a racing game at its heart, but that doesn't even begin to describe the depth of gameplay you'll find. Tricks, flips, stunts, time trials, cooperative and competitive modes, and platforming action you won't find in a platformer. It shouldn't come as a surprise TrackMania 2's next big DLC pack is called 'Platform,' but it might surprise you to hear this huge content pack now 100% free.
Here's the content to be included in the DLC title pack:
- 1 new game mode and solo campaign
- 23 new tracks
- Game mode available in editor for players to create their own Platform tracks
- Dedicated ranking for Platform players
- The King of the Ultimate Nightmare Challenge: first player to complete a full drive-through on the Ultimate Nightmare platform track with absolutely no re-spawn, can send the replay to Nadeo to see their achievement
It says something, doesn't it, when a developer challenges its community to finish a map without respawning and then rewarding the first player to do it. It will probably be just as entertaining to see videos of people attempting to complete the challenge as it is the actual flawless run.
Check out the trailer below to see if TrackMania 2 Canyon's action is something you'd be interested in picking up. The game is solely offered through Ubisoft's store and ManiaPlanet's store, likely because you launch the game through a unique proprietary online system and services like Steam aren't okay with that. The game only costs $19.99 and has extensive multiplayer services and a strong community behind it. Also, cars!
