Must troll harder. You aren't impressing anyone.

I have recently picked up the game after being recommended it by a friend who saw me playing AC;R. Indon't have DS1, so I was knew to the series, and it reminds me of AC. I havn't played ANY zelda, but that must mean that AC is just a rehashed Zelda, by said train on thought? Or what about Prince of Persia? Very similar yet again.

The story needs a bit to work on in its coherency (maybe an issue to myself being new), but that aside, the bright and pop-art graphics are a pleasure (after Dishonored, at least) and the free running with simple button mashing being a pleasing cross between Dynasty Warriors combat and AC's overly boring and tedious Combat mechanism (itself barely improved since AC1).

I hardly think I've killed anyone in AC;R outside of the odd target that I was unable to Assassinate, Arrow Storm or simply call 6 Master Assassins to deal with.

darksiders is a total rip off of Zelda, the main characters might as well be wearing green spandex, I hope there's a legal case against this unoriginal piece of crap

Not need for the dramatics. It's just his opinion and he was completely civil about it. As for the game being "dark" and "edgy", I don't think Darksiders can really be compared to a lot of games along those lines. You're playing a horseman rather than an ordinary person, so it's not like War is a cliche "woe is me, I'm a big loner, and now I'm out to kill everybody" kind of character. Technically what I wrote about War is probably true, but you don't see him crying about.

Probably for the same reason people complain about lack of color in other games. That or he means black as in dark and edgy.

Your still judging the game on appearances alone which is no better than the Zelda fans who complained about Wind Waker just because the game looked too kiddie and cartoonish.

I don't know why you keep going on about black. Darksiders actually has a lot of colour in it.

Mystic Aurora, you do realize that your comments on Darksiders are in the same boat (and frankly, just as laughable) as the people who refused to play Wind Waker because if the way it looked, right?
Some people are picky about theme. I don't dig the "four horsemen, darkness, death, omg black" theme. It could be done in toddler scribbles or cel-shading and I still wouldn't like it. The theme just plain doesn't interest me.

You're wrongfully conflating theme and graphics. Graphics are merely how the theme is communicated.

I've never played Dark Siders. It looks a lot like many games already out. Though if it's similar to Zelda in some way, it makes me wanna try it

I love TP. OOT and Lttp are great too, but TP expands upon them and is a far superior game in almost every way. Given how huge the world is in TP, you can't expect it to be full of goodies at every turn.. It would be unnatural for it to be like that. I explored the over world a lot and thought that there was more than enough treasure to find. The empty feel of it is how it's supposed to feel.

Mystic Aurora You clearly haven't played Darksiders. And Twilight Princess is an insult to the Zelda series? Please.
Yes, it is. It was merely a rehash of Ocarina of Time, from its vast, empty Hyrule Field to the story progression (which OoT borrowed from ALttP) to the shoddy design (dungeon items hardly useful outside of their respective dungeon) to the "realistic" graphics.

Twilight Princess did almost everything wrong as far as Zelda is concerned with one exception: Midna was a great character and _made_ the game. Without her, it would've fallen flat on its face.

Zak Islam? Isn't he from Playstation Lifestyle?

Anyway, spot on with the God of War comments. I cannot stand people who compare any action game to GoW. It's annoying as Hell.

"Dark" themed games typically have poor storytelling and voice work. And why would I go through the trouble of buying another system just to play a game that's little more than borrowed Zelda concepts with a "cool, edgy" skin on top? There's nothing in that experience for me.

That's exactly what the case was with Star Fox Adventures. It had awesome graphics, fur effects, lighting, etc, but ultimately fell flat in gameplay; the same fate of all other Zelda wanna-bes: puzzles that are ass-easy, characters that have little to no personality, and a game world that doesn't inspire exploration.

That said, there are certain Zeldas that are an insult to the series. Twilight Princess being one of them. Majora's Mask has had one of the darkest stories in Zelda, and yet still managed a strong, vibrant palette and varying locales without tons of "omg black".

There's nothing interesting about the screens I see in Darksiders.

Here's a tip; drop the silly "omg darkness" theme suitable for teenagers and us Zelda folk (who are pushing 30) may take your game seriously.
Or, you know, play it anyways and realize how fun it is despite the theme.
