Violence against women won't be featured in God of War: Ascension
Developer has a line that won't be crossed
Sony Santa Monica has said God of War: Ascension won't feature violence against women.
The developer's design manager David Hewitt explained that although the title features brutal and certainly gore-inspired violence, the studio won't cross the line.
"The team has a set of rules that define those sorts of things very clearly. There are some things we've pulled back from. I think where this has been an issue is with violence against women - the team's pulled back from some of that and assessed that a little more carefully.
"There are certain things that carry a different kind of resonance that we don't want to get into. This isn't about statement-making in that regard. It's about fleshing out this character."
Hewitt continued that while Kratos may tear his enemies apart, he doesn't take pleasure from it.
"Where it shows itself is how the combat designers and animators have designed Kratos' moves. He's always leaning forward, he's always moving forward. He's seeking revenge and he's after his ultimate objective and he will tear through enemies - rip them in half - as quickly as he can
"But there's not a lot of flourishes, there's not any kind of enjoying the moment. There's nothing about this that he's enjoying."
God of War: Ascension is currently scheduled for a release in North America on March 12, 2013.

Also I guess this means no female multiplayer characters.
Positive discrimination has no place in the drive towards equality for all.
So long Medusa, it was nice knowin ya.
Honestly it bugs me when people complain about lack of equality then pull things like this. People only want it when it benefits them, when will they learn you can't have your cake and eat it too?
Luckily for you all, Netherrealm Studios shits all over the line that Sony won't cross.
