Gears of War: Judgment release date, March 19, given after fan gets tattooed
Thanks, Waldo Kinney! It ain't pretty, but it got the job done
After a fan named Waldo Kinney agreed to get a Gears of War tattoo, Epic promised to reveal the release date for their upcoming title Gears of War: Judgment. Today, during an SDCC panel, they delivered: March 19, 2013. GearsViking Rod Gergusson, sporting a classy "Chicks Dig the Baird" t-shirt made initially revealed the March release period earlier today, but the full date was provided just now.
The People Can Fly/Epic Games collaboration starring Baird and Cole adventuring prior to the events of the original Gears of War trilogy maybe be one of Microsoft's last huge exclusives for their aging 360. Fans, however, are as excited as ever to see the franchise continuing in any form. Top that off with a release date less than a year away and it sort of looks like the time-frame would work for another Gears in 2014.
That's getting ahead of ourselves though, since we hardly know anything about Gears of War: Judgment as it is. Still, the Xbox 360 exclusive's March 19 release date is exciting news. Hopefully we can get some gameplay in trailer form in coming months.
Oh, and here's that tattoo that prompted the announcement in the first place:
