Assassin's Creed 3 PC expected to launch alongside console versions
No big delays anticipated
Assassin's Creed III for PC will enjoy a simultaneous launch to the console versions, creative director Alex Hutchinson confirmed at San Diego Comic-Con this week. In response to a fan's question, Hutchinson said that to his knowledge, the PC version is being released at the same time as the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions.
This comes as a surprise to some, as Ubisoft has a well-established habit of delaying PC versions of their games for long periods of time. Regarding DRM, a major reason behind their weak reputation with PC gamers, Hutchinson noted that decisions regarding copyright protection are never made by the development staff. He couldn't actually comment on what sort of system Assassin's Creed III PC would adopt -- if any -- but tried to assure fans that such things are rarely ever the dev team's idea.
Assassin's Creed III will be out on October 30 for Xbox 360, PS3, and PC, then later for Wii U. Based on what we saw at E3 and Comic-Con, it's shaping up to be quite an amazing installment, and might actually cure any AC fatigue following Revelations.
