It's the San Diego Comic Convention after all, so Warner Bros. and NetherRealm would be remiss to not take advantage and announce something new for Injustice: Gods Among Us. Lucky for us, they're on top of this business. Introducing the half-man, half-robot Cyborg and Batman's heartthrob protégé Nightwing. Seriously, we have the screenshots to prove it. It may seem a tad underwhelming at first, until you see the picture of Cyborg kicking Wonder Woman in the neck.
That brings the roster to a total of 8 playable characters, though big names like the Green Lantern and already teased characters like Lex Luthor have yet to be shown. All characters, including the new additions, are playable on the SDCC show floor, so hopefully we can find some in-game footage of them in action floating around the net.
No new maps or features are teased, from what I can tell, in the six screenshots provided. All in all, however, not too bad of a reveal from the guys at NetherRealm. I won't lie though, I'm more excited to see super-villains than super-heroes at this point. Could use some intensity in these media assets, as opposed to heroes kicking each others' asses.
Injustice: Gods Among Us is slated for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii U in 2013. Look forward to more information in coming months.
