Ready for some more hot DLC action from BioWare, this time 100% official? News has hit about Mass Effect 3's next big patch, the Earth Multiplayer DLC. As always, the pack will be entirely free, but you'll have to farm most of it by purchasing reinforcement packs in-game. Content included in the DLC includes 3 new maps, 6 new human N7 classes, and 3 weapons as per usual. The pack will be downloadable starting July 17 on all platforms and territories, though European PS3 owners will have to wait for the 18.
Here's the specific content included in the pack:
- 3 weapons: The Pirahna assault shotgun, Acolyte pistol, and Typhoon assault rifle
- 6 N7 human classes: Destroyer Soldier, Paladin Sentinel, Demolisher Engineer, Slayer Vanguard, Shadow Infiltrator, Fury Adept, each with, "new and powerful abilities and melee attacks"
- 3 maps: Firebase Rio, Vancouver and London
- Platinum difficulty!
I haven't played any Mass Effect 3 multiplayer since players didn't complete one of the weekend challenges, and every game thereafter received special visits from Banshee friends. It's nice of BioWare to keep putting out additional content for free, but none of it is especially meta-changing or more fun compared to what's already readily available. Still, there's an audience that craves it, so keep it coming.
Mass Effect 3 is currently available on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC, and the new Earth Multiplayer DLC will be almost completely available on July 17.
