Monster Hunter 4 has new Japanese trailer featuring monkeys, dragons and giant swords
Don't mess with a dragon's eggs, that's just common sense
Capcom was kind enough to gift Monster Hunter fans with something special this weekend. Here's the first gameplay trailer for Monster Hunter 4 for the 3DS, set for a spring 2013 release date in Japan. The hugely popular action/adventure title based on hunting or capturing giant beasts has yet to be announced for the North American market, similarly to the other 3DS franchise title Monster Hunter Tri G. Hopefully we can persuade Capcom to share the love.
Also like Monster Hunter Tri G, Monster Hunter 4 will be compatible with the Circle Pad Pro peripheral, which adds a second analog stick to the handheld. A near requirement for combat heavy 3D titles like the Monster Hunter franchise. Many gamers were surprised by the 3DS XL announcement, or at least its lack of a second analog stick. Yet the fact is that there aren't really enough games that use the stick to justify the upgrade. Plus, then they'd have nothing to add to the 2013 version of the 3DS, right?
I am, admittedly, not a fan of the Monster Hunter franchise -- though I'd like to be. Anyone able to point out what they think is exciting from the trailer? I'm impressed with the environments, personally, though I'm curious how they'll look on a 3DS screen in full 3D vision. Hopefully Capcom will have more Monster Hunter 4 news for us soon.

To be honest, I think that CAPCOM should at the very least port MHFU to the consoles as a test run and see if the response is worth persuing that path, becasue at the moment, the developers are just downgrading to lower and lower machines to save money.
Hopefully the trailer's appearance is due to being a work in progress and not the scale of the game. The new gameplay mechanics seem more interesting and looks like the acrobatics should be especially fun for sns and ds users, needless to say the 3d should make bow/bowgun users' jobs a bit easier. I still find it rather amusing how they always squeeze so many shots of the rathalos and rathian shooting fireballs into every trailer.
If you really want this game just get a used 3DS or something, geez :/
As soon as they give out more information about what their doing with multiplayer i will either change my mind or it'll stay the same and i just won't buy it.
Not to mention this game is probably not even going to be released outside Japan, and the 3DS is region locked. If it was on the Vita/PS3 (I actually want it to be on the PS3 more than anything) at least fans could import it.
Not that I have anything against Nintendo or the 3DS. I'm glad MHTri brought in a lot of new MH fans. But it seems like Capcom is forgetting about the old fans that used to play the installments on the PS2/PSP.
