sigh. this could of been such a blockbuster game if it were on any console. but its on the 3DS which i think is a huge mistake. Still waiting on Monster Hunter Portable/Freedom 3 CAPCOM.

This looks worse then MHF2 on psp. Why dont they just make one for a major console already?

I believe capcom release the unfinished trailer, once they do the final touch it will be perfect. It's capcom, I have faith for MH title, cos I've play all the MH titles.

The last time a MF game was planned for a "major console", the graphics budget was too low and it became exclusive to the Wii because of it's lower graphical capibilities. It's not like CAPCOM didn't try, it's that it takes money to make a MF game that doesn't disapoint for the consoles.
To be honest, I think that CAPCOM should at the very least port MHFU to the consoles as a test run and see if the response is worth persuing that path, becasue at the moment, the developers are just downgrading to lower and lower machines to save money.

Author, just as the Wii added underwater battles this new game is focusing more on aerial attacks. The older games were similar to Phantasy Star Online with items or bowguns to attack anything not on the ground. In the older games climbing was just a way to get up things but it'll be used for much more. What you can take from the trailer is that they expanded on what they older games were and now they grant more freedom with how you fight with a chosen weapon. Just a theory though, if anything its new areas, new monsters, and new equipment from said monsters.

But its on the 3DS which i think is a huge mistake.
I'm curious, why exactly is it a big mistake? As for being on a home console back when tri was announce I remember reading about how the reason for going from ps3 to wii was because of the budget size and that Nintendo offered to help foot the bill. An MHFU hd port (preferably with fixed hitboxes) would be a good idea except that it would likely be missing ad-hoc for the same reasons as MHP3rd hd, not good when your trying to attract new fans.

Hopefully the trailer's appearance is due to being a work in progress and not the scale of the game. The new gameplay mechanics seem more interesting and looks like the acrobatics should be especially fun for sns and ds users, needless to say the 3d should make bow/bowgun users' jobs a bit easier. I still find it rather amusing how they always squeeze so many shots of the rathalos and rathian shooting fireballs into every trailer.

The 3DS is not an expensive piece of hardware.

If you really want this game just get a used 3DS or something, geez :/

I dont care, JUST MAKE IT FOR AMERICA! You guys are worried about the console, but have you ever thought, maybe it wont come to the US? If it does though, I hope it goes on multiple game devices because although I have a Nintendo 3DS, let me be honest with you. It SUCKS. I actually would like Monster Hunter on the Wii again, but Monster Hunter on the PS Vita would be awesome! Do these Japaneese people not want my American money? MAKE MONSTER HUNTER 4 IN THE US!

imo its a mistake because i think if they spent more money on it (which i know they don't have), and more time they could keep all the underwater battles (which may or may not be returning because of the limitations of the 3DS.) i don't care if the graphics stay the same as Tri because MH has always been more about the gameplay then anything else. But instead their going to put money towards putting it into 3D. (and also probably getting rid of Online play though i don't know exactly what their doing about local/internet play atm.)

As soon as they give out more information about what their doing with multiplayer i will either change my mind or it'll stay the same and i just won't buy it.

I'm not afraid to admit that I'm mad because it isn't on the Vita/PS3. I don't want to buy a 3DS just to play the new installment of Monster Hunter and I would prefer it to be on a Sony handheld or console. I would be fine with a multiplatform release too as long as they develop it for the superior hardware first and then port it to the inferior one (like PC ---- consoles)

Not to mention this game is probably not even going to be released outside Japan, and the 3DS is region locked. If it was on the Vita/PS3 (I actually want it to be on the PS3 more than anything) at least fans could import it.

Not that I have anything against Nintendo or the 3DS. I'm glad MHTri brought in a lot of new MH fans. But it seems like Capcom is forgetting about the old fans that used to play the installments on the PS2/PSP.
