This is what bothers me about Activision. I could understand the guitar hero one, they stopped selling well, hell I think they started to sell below 500,000 copies, but now it seems anything that doesn't sell anywhere nearly as well as CoD they are going to view as a failure. Money grubbing is so pathetic to see in action.

Sell it in order to keep Prototype alive. I bought both of those games. Again, companies shouldn't care about themselves but the customers. What will they do with Radnet if they close them?

Their big game series are what, Call Of Duty, Cabela?(I guess, I mean they make a lot of them)......The James Bond Series of games?(again I guess) The Spider Man Games (market flooding ftw!) Oh and that Money Sink Parent wallet trapping beast know as Skylanders.... Dear god the money spent on that shit. So Prototype wasn't selling as good or better than any of those, is that what they are saying? I call BULLSHIT.

I have here the cliff notes from the meeting where Activision decided on this:
"Man, those guys at EA are showing us up again. We need to find a way to really show gamers how much crueler, more evil we are then them."

And seen.

Lorx You left out the part where Eric Hirshberg punched that baby in the face, then kicked that Midget through the goal posts he had installed in his office, which is right next to his gold plated fountain filled with Orphan Tears that has the sign that reads "Everything but Call Of Duty can go *bleep* itself" on it. Then he tossed a kitten at a puppy and knocked them both in the fountain.

This is suckage news. I loved the Prototype games. :'(

What you have to keep in mind is that Activision are a company that employs a shed load of people. Although perhaps their management and business style is questionable, you have to think of it from a business point of view. They will have looked at how much it cost them to make the game, i.e. 90-some employee's being paid fairly well I'd say, along with the other costs involved. If the game doesn't sell enough and management looks at their books and finds they are losing money instead of making is, then as a company you have to start thinking about potentially selling or closing the "money" sink you have.

Now I'm not saying Radical Entertainment was a money sink, hell I don't have the figures so I can't really compare. If Activision are selling them, then it would point to the fact that it's costing them money to keep them around. This is guess work, as I said I don't have their figures.

DarkLordAkuma, They are also a company that makes over $1 billion every 3 or so months they are hardly in need of money these days. They probably spent $30 million making Prototype 2 which includes staff salaries and marketing the game, the game made more than that so they made a profit even if it wasn't the $1 billion Call of Duty generates every 2-3 months.

Activision have just lost the plot they have forgotten where they came from.. 10 years ago Activision didn't have the money they have now, you'd think they'd be a little more thankful to the people that put them in the financial situation they now enjoy, instead Activision have one of the most pitiful games libraries in the industry as to them if it's not Call of Duty or World of Warcraft it's not worth their time..

Focusing on Call of Duty will work in the short term but when that bubble bursts and it will burst Activision have no safety net and nothing in the works to prepare for that. They are very much an anti-gaming organisation these days and I think it is high time the gamers stop supporting them.

Aren't these the mofos tryna go the hardcore route?

Why close them down? They are making profit off of the Prototype franchise right?

Yeah nowhere near the level of Duty Bops but it's kinda to be expected from a game not about being Rambo(well, pretty insane shit in these games too).

*bleep* this world
