Saints Row expansion 'Enter The Dominatrix' dies, new sequel born from the ashes
"The Next Great Sequel in the Saints Row Franchise" to offer broader appeal
New THQ president Jason Rubin is making dramatic changes company-wide, and his next target is the current Saints Row project from developer Volition. Saints Row: The Third's upcoming expansion Enter The Dominatrix has been retired, but its concepts and ideas will instead be folded into a full fledged Saints Row sequel.
Jason Rubin elaborates on the decision:
"When I looked at the Enter The Dominatrix expansion in production at Volition, I was blown away by the ideas and desire to expand the fiction of the franchise. I asked the team what it could achieve given more time, more resources, and a broader scope for the project. We all agreed we wanted to play that game."
Rubin later added that fans should expect the sequel in calendar year 2013. Previous mentions of Saints Row 4 pointed towards a similar release window for an Xbox 360, PS3 and PC release, but whether the old Saints Row 4 is akin to the new Saints Row 4 -- it's all speculation.
While the lack of details might distress excited Saints Row fans who've been looking forward to the Enter the Dominatrix expansion, make sure to take a moment to appreciate Rubin's transparency here. THQ could have just as easily said nothing, or canceled the expansion straight away with no mention of the sequel.
If you had any worries, Rubin's closing thoughts were, "When it comes to Saints Row, it's clear our fans want bigger, better, and even more over the top." That's certainly a perfect setup for a Saints Row: The Third sequel if I've ever heard one.

I do think SaintsRow:The4th should take a little more time that way maybe it can have what SR2 had mixed with SaintsRow:The3rd.
Without bring back multiplayer, dropping multiplayer from SaintsRow2 was the best thing ever.
I do think all the dlc could've been alot better but at least it wasn't overpriced Capcom dlc.
Skins for already existing vehicles should be free.
No extra naughty & sexy outfits, no extra hairstyles.
Looking through the SaintsRowThe3rd DLC i did skip over buying alot of it. However i didn't buy SaintsRowThe3rd for the DLC.
I love SaintsRowThe3rd but the dlc isn't memorable.
I think Dominatrix should be a standalone expansion to makeup for the weak dlc, that would add an additional positive to SaintsRowThe3rd & not have all the dlc for it labeled as developers tossing a bone at gamers.
