Too scary to play alone ? THAT's BULLSHIT!!! . Only a 12 year old would say that. I loved the 2 previous games because it IS SCARY. And the new game looks more like an action game than a survival horror.

Minecraft is scarier than Dead Space.

Just face it Visceral, you messed up on this one.

I loved the first two games. I just got the newest Game Informer yesterday and there's a preview of Dead Space 3. Not only will this be co-op, but it also appears that it will be more of a shooter. You aren't just battling necromorphs, now you'll be fighting members of the Covenant. This seems like a gaint misstep for the franchise. Dead Space has always been so great because it was so much unlike other games out there. This just sounds bad.

Unitologists, not the Covenant. Sorry about that. Halo 4 was in last month's issue, my brain wires must've crossed.

Everytime someone calls any Dead Space game a survival/horror game God kills a puppy.

Also I'm not sure how Dead Space 3 can go down the action/shooter route since the first 2 games were action/shooters. Now it's just the same exact over the top action with a buddy. That said Dead Space is a fun action game.

I wouldn't call the Dead Space series horror exactly, but more like a thriller, because there are parts during the game that can be really creepy.

Dead Space I and II were extremely good games and definitely have 'Wow or heart-pounding' moments..but not as scary as the true horror experience when we first tasted from Resident Evil 2 or 3...

I'm a horror game fan, I like being scary, but Dead Space didn't quite fulfill my horror desire. By the way, the scariest game I've EVER played was Fatal Frame I and II, I'd like to play them again in a dark room alone with a good head phone or decent surround sound system.

P.S. I still prefer a split-screen co-op over online co-op; otherwise, a 10 years old co-op gamer is more scary than the monsters you see in Dead Space!

Let me tell you this, I've always assumed Dead Space is a horror survival game. I look at it sometimes, and think "mmm maybe I want that" but I've never actually gone and bought it, because I'm a big coward, I don't like scary games.

The thought of playing it with one of my friends makes me think that MAYBE I'll buy it. Still though, I wouldn't say it's a brilliant marketing scheme.

After reading the comments, I may just go ahead and buy it, if it isn't as scary as I initially thought.

The first two chapters of Dead Space 1 will probably be the scariest though around about then you get used to the scare tactics and it becomes a bit more of a creepy/tense shooter.

I've yet to play Dead Space 2, but I've played the original and it didn't find scary at all. It was fun, but not scary. Perhaps I've been spoiled by the original 4 Silent Hill games.

Haha those games will do that. I think most Silent Hill veterans will find Dead Space a pretty tranquil and pleasant game in comparison. I see Amnesia doing that for a lot of gamers, those that found that game terrifying probably won't find other games scary anymore as none will be at that games level, not unless of course Silent Hill goes back to its roots and starts being scary again..
