If this is another way of making the price of the console low due to the cheap batteries they put in the controller then i dont mind since i can still use it while its charging. Looks like its gonna be like the olden days... wired controller.

Well thats pretty horrible =/

One thing Nintendo shouldn't skimp on is battery especially when the console is entirely dependent on a high powered, wireless controller.

It requires an AC adapter to charge just like the 3DS which means you will be plugged in at a wall socket. The big issue is and I'm taking this from my own experiences in that I don't have a wall socket near the sofa, and most of the sockets in the room are behind the TV because that is where the largest concentration of electrical devices are going to be. So unless the Wii U comes with a monumental length charge cable, charging and playing will be very difficult indeed. When the biggest selling point is this controller and you can only use it 3 hours at a time that's a massive fail in my book.

That is a problem, unless they can supply a suitably long cable.

Otherwise, I'm sure some third-party will get on that. Hell, somone might even design a higher-quality battery you can buy separately if the setup of your living room isn't conjunctive to wired play.

Extension cords! Cut off the male end and tie it into your TV's cord, tape it along the wall to a surface mount box behind your couch and you're good to go: Power to the couch without taking an extra spot in a crowded recepticle AND electrical hackjob of the year! (Probably week, TBH)
