Zombie RPG Dead State hits Kickstarter
Help former Obsidian developers fund the apocalypse
It feels like damn near a whole week since I've written about a Kickstarter project. Missed it, didn't you?
Dead State is the latest, a PC zombie RPG for the people sick of zombie games. It's created by Double Bear, which houses former Obsidian developers Brian Mitsoda and Annie Carlson. If you're really nerdy, you'll know Mitsoda wrote the Malkavians in Vampire: The Masquerade -- Bloodlines, so almost for that alone, the game could be worth funding and/or buying.
The trailer isn't going to blow your socks off with stellar presentation or fancy graphics or any modern conveniences like that, but it does have some atmosphere, enough that I'm looking forward to seeing more of it.
Anyhoo, Double Bear is asking $150,000, of which it's currently raised a little over $32,000. Hit the source if you're keen.

That said, it looked really...stiff XD It's still early work, so naturally the game will look and play better for release. I rather like the concept of traditional zombie survival (find a secure location, fix it up, collect supplies, avoid fighting if you can, etc). So I'm funding this.
How many Kickstarters that you've mentioned so far, that I have also supported Chautemoc?
BTW: They're now over 1/3rd of the way there, with a month to go (Well, a February, non-leap year sized month XD). Wonder if they'll have stretch goals?
