Nintendo's weirdo strategy game Pikmin 3 finally sees the light of day at this year's E3 with a new trailer and screenshots, seen above and below.
The new goodies do make it seem like the choice to bring Pikmin into high definition was a wise one: the already vibrant world really pops on the Wii U. And of course, they bring that same charm back, thanks as much to the Pikmin themselves as the monsters and various creatures in the game's universe.
See the screens below for examples of how you'll control the game. The jist of it is the Wiimote and Wii U Gamepad can be used interchangeably, but it's also worth noting the Gamepad can be used as a map, or as a replay screen, allowing you to assess your previous mission before deciding how to venture forward.
Pikmin 3 is expected to release around the time of the Wii U launch (currently estimated at late this year).
